The movie studios’ version of summer has always begun a little earlier than that of the natural world.
But then there’s little natural about a four-month season of superheroes and archenemies, of chattering animals and nattering comic actors all finding themselves in unlikely spots. More than 100 movie will be opening in our area between May 4, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” lights the fuse, and Labor Day, when the Telluride Film Festival unfolds in the San Juans.
